Barbara Chappell Mickles, 71, of Halifax passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023. She was born in Halifax County on Dec. 2, 1951, to the late Theron Chappell and the late Elsie Moore Chappell.
She was of the Methodist faith. Barbara loved tulips, working puzzles, watching hummingbirds, dolphins, but most of all she loved bragging about her grandchildren. Her passing will leave an enormous hole in our hearts and will be greatly missed by all.
Cherishing her memory are her children, Kathy Bugg (Michael) of Chester, Dennis Mickles (Jennifer) of Victoria; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Patricia Wiley (Robert) of Powhatan.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ray Mickles; one brother, T.A. Chappell.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 28, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Bryant officiating.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 28, 2023, one hour prior to the service at Powell Funeral Home.
