Brandy Marie Wallace of Glenolden, Pennsylvania, passed away Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021. She called herself a “Wallace Warrior” during her courageous battle with Stage 4 cancer since Aug. 2020. Brandy was born in Halifax County on July 8, 1983 and was 38 years of age. She is the daughter of Prince “Junior” and Janice Hayes Wallace.

Brandy was a 2001 graduate of Halifax County High School. She graduated from Averett University in 2005 with a BA in Criminal Justice/Sociology. The love of law led Brandy to the Halifax County Circuit Court where she worked as a deputy clerk. Her passion for adventure moved her to Pennsylvania in 2018. She was employed with the Chester County Justice Center as a Pretrial Services Officer at the time of her death.

Left to cherish Brandy’s memories are her parents; her brother, Jason Wallace; her sister, Sarah Martin and husband Cody; her fiancé, Thomas McGovern; aunts Lynn (Johnnie) Conner, Tracy (Harold) Carmichael, Lisa Wallace, Ann (Buddy) Campbell and Twila Wallace; an uncle, Gary (Crystal) Wallace; numerous cousins; friends that became family in Pennsylvania; and her beloved dog, Astro.

Brandy was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Marion “Gabby” and Marie Hayes; and paternal grandparents, Prince and Annie Wallace.

A memorial service for Brandy will be held Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, at Mountain Road Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. with the service at 7 p.m.
