Brian Lee Wilkerson, beloved son, brother and uncle, departed this life on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021, at the age of 37.  Born in Halifax County on Sept. 13, 1984, he was the son of Page and Bobbie Wilkerson of Alton.

Brian was a graduate of Halifax County High School Class of 2002 and furthered his education at Virginia Tech, Class of 2006.  He was employed with Farm Credit of the Virginias as a commercial agricultural loan officer, serving southside Virginia farmers and loved building relationships and helping people in his work. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved racing and hunting.  He loved to prank his family, friends and co-workers. He leaves behind a legacy of friendship, love and having fun.

Leaving behind to cherish his memories are his parents, brother Joe Wilkerson (KB), sister Anna Shotwell (Kevin), nieces Bailey Wilkerson, Talley Wilkerson, Page Shotwell and Katie Shotwell; aunts, uncles and cousins; and tons of friends who were like family to him.

He was preceded in death by his special friend, Jaime Jennings.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, outside at Alton Baptist Church with the Rev. Vance Midgett officiating. Everyone is encouraged to bring a lawn chair or if you prefer to stay in the car and listen to the service, tune to 88.9 on the radio. The family will receive friends at the home of Page and Bobbie Wilkerson.
