Mr. Calvin Lee Burrell of South Boston died Monday, Aug. 31, 2020, at his residence at the age of 65.
Mr. Burrell was born in Halifax County on Jan. 18, 1955 to the late Mr. James Burrell Sr. and Mrs. Sallie Stokes Burrell and was a member of Deliverance Tabernacle of The Apostolic Faith.
Mr. Burrell is survived by a devoted sister and care giver, Ms. Dorothy Burrell; three brothers, Mr. Eugene Burrell “Genie” of the home, Bishop Larry Burrell (Juanita) of South Boston and Mr. Thomas Burrell (Marshall) of South Bend; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Laura Burrell of Detroit, Michigan; and a host of nieces, nephews, including the devoted cousins including Mr. Marcus Burrell and Mr. Joseph Palmer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Mr. James Burrell Jr., Mr. Alexander “Buddy Roe” Burrell and Mr. George L. Burrell; and one sister, Mrs. Virginia Palmer.
A graveside service for Mr. Calvin Lee Burrell will be held Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Apostle Carl Lykes Sr. officiating.
Due to COVID-19 guidelines, facemasks and social distancing will be required.
Public viewing for family and friends will be Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
