Ms. Carolyn Gayle Coleman of Leda Road, Nathalie died Friday, Aug. 7 in South Boston at the age of 54.

Ms. Coleman was born in South Boston on Dec. 14, 1965 to the late Mr. Obie Lester Coleman and Mrs. Mattie Coles Coleman. She was employed by the Halifax County Public Schools as a Librarian/Media Specialist and was a member of County Line Baptist Church.

Ms. Coleman is survived by one sister, Mrs. Shirley Ann Coleman (Stafford) of Virginia Beach; four brothers, Mr. Alvin D. Coleman (Ostella) and Mr. Dwight L. Coleman (Cheryl), both of Nathalie, Mr. Calvin D. Coleman (Veronica) of Suffolk and Mr. John W. Coleman of Clarksville, Maryland; four nieces, Mrs. Daphne Edmunds (Douglas) of Chesapeake, Mrs. Della Cunningham (Derek) of Nathalie, Mrs. Dorehn Richardson (Jordan) of Atlanta, Georgia and Ms. Niwa Coleman of Clarksville, Maryland; two nephews, Mr. Calvin D. Coleman, II of Suffolk and Mr. Obie D. Coleman of Nathalie; four great nieces, Demaya, Makayla, Domonique and LaMari; two great nephews: Dexter and Darius; one uncle, Mr. Junior Coleman of Nathalie; aunt Mrs. Vandora Rutledge of Jersey City, New Jersey; and a host of loving cousins, family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Dorethea Coleman.

Funeral services for Ms. Carolyn Gayle Coleman will be held Wednesday, Aug. 12 at noon with services at The Crawford House Chapel in Halifax with Dr. Veronica Coleman officiating and Rev. Dr. Otis R. Dillard as eulogist. Burial will follow at County Line Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Due to COVID-19 regulations, a facemask will be required, and seating may be limited due to social distancing requirements.

Public viewing for family and friends will be at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. The family will receive friends at 2025 North Main Street, South Boston.
