Mrs. Carrie Lee Hart Chandler of South Boston died March 30, 2021 at the age of 68.
Mrs. Chandler was born in Halifax County on Feb. 5, 1953 to the late Willie James Hart and Arsue Edmondson Hart and was married to Frederick Chandler Jr. She was a member of New Mt. Olive Apostolic Church and was employed at Pizza Hut Restaurant for over 30 years.
Mrs. Chandler is survived by her husband of the home; three children, Kelvin Chandler Sr., (Kellie) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Devin Chandler of the home and Brandy Chandler of South Boston; nine grandchildren; one brother, Rogers Hart (Dorothy); seven sisters, Doris Ann Womack (Melvin), Arnitha Terry (Gene), Janice Logan, Gladys White (Henry), Frances Mosley (Robert), Denise Bailey and Furness Jackson (Michael); three sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including the devoted Delois Ferrell and Marquis Berkley.
A funeral service for Mrs. Chandler will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at 11 a.m. at The Crawford House chapel in Halifax with District Elder William Terry, eulogist. Following COVID-19 guidelines seating is limited, a face mask and social distancing will be required.
Public viewing for family and friends will be Monday from noon to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel.
