Christopher Michael “Mikey” Bomar of South Boston passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 2021. He was born in Halifax County on Aug. 25, 1977 and was 44 years of age. He was the son of the late Michael Thomas Bomar and the late Christy Lynn Whitlow Bomar. He was married to Jennifer Justus Bomar who survives.

He was a member of Mt. Laurel United Methodist Church. Mikey was a member of American Legion Post 8, an avid baseball and sports fan, had a competitive nature and was known for his quick wit as well as being a jokester. He will be remembered as a loving husband, brother, son and uncle.

Christopher Michael “Mikey” Bomar is survived by his wife, Jennifer Justus Bomar of the home; his grandmother, Nelda L. Ingram (Ira) of South Boston; one sister, Cassidy Bomar Prevett (Richard Harrell); and her daughters, Jules and Hailey; mother-in-law Janice M. Justus “Mama J” of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; brother-in-law, Scott Justus of Raleigh, North Carolina; maternal cousins, Tammy Glenn (Bill) and Tyra Keene (Kirby); maternal uncle Wesley Whitlow (Debbie); and a host of paternal aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Olive Branch United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joe Trickey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of his sister, 1220 N. Main Street, South Boston.
