Danica Jenifer Deere, age 65, died from a heart attack on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, in South Boston.

She is survived by her wife of 32 years, Linda Dye-Deere; brothers, James Deere Sr. (MaryAnn), Christopher Deere (Michele), Jack Deere; stepmother, Patricia Deere; nephews Daniel Parks, Toby Payne (Tara), Daniel Payne (Kelly), Sean Deere (Katie), James Deere Jr.; and nieces, Amber Ross (Ronald), Melissa Kletzker (Rob) and Jennifer Spencer, Sara Cox (Alex); sisters-in-law Dana Sheldon, Nancy Dye Eckert, Ruth Pool (Ricky); and was preceded in death by her father, John Deere; and mother Joan Ambroji; and six dogs and two cats.

She was raised in Baltimore, Maryland, graduated as senior class president of Martin Spaulding, worked as a private investigator for over 40 years, and had a history of volunteering with the fire department, Civil Air Patrol and Scouts.

She moved to South Boston in 2016 and opened Loving Care Pet Boarding with her wife, Linda.

Danica was loyal, kind, generous, hard-working, witty and loved to help people and animals.
