Mr. David Arnell “Poo” Guthrie of Lincoln Drive, South Boston, died Thursday, Nov. 4 at his residence at the age of 58.
Mr. Guthrie was born on Dec. 23, 1962, to Mr. Robert Eugene Guthrie and Mrs. Gladys Chandler Harris. He was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Nathalie, and an employee of Firebird Manufacturing Company in South Boston.
Mr. Guthrie is survived by his wife, Tracey C. Guthrie, of the home; two daughters, Dominique N. Guthrie and Shakita Chambers, both of South Boston; two grandchildren, Zykeriah Chambers and Zymiah Palmer; his parents, Gladys Chandler Harris of South Boston and Robert Eugene Guthrie of South Boston; one sister, Pamela G. “Moo” Bae of Washington, D.C.; two brothers, Christopher E. Guthrie (Phyllis) of South Boston and Robert W. Guthrie (Zelda) of Halifax; two step-sisters, Karen H. Medley and Kisha Harris; his mother-in-law, Patricia A. Byrd; step mother-in-law, Diane Byrd; two brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
David was preceded in death by his first wife, Cynthia D. Guthrie, his step-father, George E. Harris; special devoted cousins, Stacey W. Majors and Timothy T. Chandler; and two devoted friends.
Graveside services for Mr. David Arnell Guthrie will be held Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. with services at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Willie Yancey officiating. A face mask and social distancing will be required.
Public viewing will be at Jeffress Funeral Home on Tuesday from noon to 6 p.m.
