Ms. Delores Farrar Coles of Eastover Drive, South Boston, died on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at her residence at the age of 61.
Ms. Coles was born in Halifax County on Feb. 4, 1959, to the late Johnnie Farrar and Arlean Buster Farrar. She was formerly married to the late Marvin Coles and was a home health nurse for over 31 years.
Ms. Coles is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Coles Ferguson of South Boston; a son, Marvin “Everette” Coles of South Boston; two sisters, Diane Coleman (Elmer) of South Boston and Vivian Farrar of Clover; her grandmother, Rosa Buster, of South Boston; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Roosevelt Buster and Willie Farrar, and her grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Green.
Graveside services for Ms. Delores Farrar Coles will be held Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 1 p.m. with services at Bethel Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, a face mask and social distancing will be required.
Public viewing will be at Jeffress Funeral Home, South Boston, on Monday from noon to 8 p.m.
