Mrs. Delores Johnson Collins of Neal’s Corner Road, Clover, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital at the age of 80.

Mrs. Collins was born Feb. 20, 1940, in New York to the late Paul Johnson and Joan Dones Johnson. She was married to Evans Collins of Clover and was a member of Bethel Grove Baptist Church. 

In addition to her husband, survivors include one daughter, Candice Taylor, of Bronx, New York; one son, Gregory Collins of Bronx; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Mack and Christine Alado, both of South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, two sisters, Paulette Delutch and Judy Gomez, and two brothers, David Johnson and Eddie Johnson, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services for Mrs. Collins will be Friday, Oct. 9, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home, South Boston with the Rev. Marvin Bowman as eulogist.

Burial will follow in Bethel Grove Baptist Church cemetery.

Due to COVID-19 guidelines, a face mask and social distancing will be required.

Public viewing will be Thursday, Oct. 8, at Jeffress Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
