Donald Frank Johnson, 73, died on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at his residence in Halifax.
Donald was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late James and Jessie Johnson. He spent his childhood and adult years in Halifax County.
Donald graduated from Halifax County School System prior to entering the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Following discharge, he returned home to live with his family.
Donald was employed as a concrete finisher in the local area for many years. Most recently he was primary caregiver for his elderly mother until her death two years ago.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his twin brother, Ronald, (Juanita) of Halifax; nephew Stephen Corey of North Chesterfield; three aunts, Florine Miller, of Baltimore, Edith Edmunds of Halifax and Jugurtha Byrd of Lawrenceville; and a host of cousins and friends.
Public viewing will be today, July 23, 2021, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Dunn and Son Funeral Services.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 11 a.m. at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Nathalie, with the Rev. Willie N. Yancey, pastor/eulogist.
