Edward Aldine Conner of Scottsburg passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019. He was born in Halifax County on Aug. 8, 1936 and was 83 years of age. He was the son of the late Arthur Conner and the late Sallie Wilbourne Conner. He was married to the late Lettie Short Conner.
He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Edward Aldine Conner is survived by two sons, Edward Carson Conner and wife Rebecca of Millersville, Maryland, Michael Blake Conner and wife Jellpa of Scottsburg; one daughter, Susan Wray Conner of Scottsburg; three grandchildren, Nick Conner, Dale Conner and Karen Conner Clay; three great grandchildren, Brian Seat, Tyler Clay and Brayden Clay; one brother, Willis Conner and wife Betty of Scottsburg; a host of nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Valerie Conner; devoted friend Bernice Inez Conner of South Boston. Special thanks to Linda King for her love and support.
He was preceded in death by one son, Robin Arthur Conner; siblings James T. Conner, Carl Conner, Dorothy Rickman, Mildred Chandler, Cora Lee Waller and Joe Conner.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019, at 10 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Tony Brooks officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at his home, 5041 James D. Hagood Hwy, Scottsburg.
