Evangelist Elaine Edmonds Campbell of Danville passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020, at Sovah Health Hospital.
Born in Halifax on Feb. 27, 1955, the 11th of 14 children born to the late Mr. Frank Fredrick (Dick) Edmonds and the late Mrs. Vernell Martin Edmonds. She was a true sister, aunt, friend, grandmother and constant witness for Jesus Christ.
Evangelist Campbell is survived by her husband of 44 years, Elder Lawrence G. Campbell Jr.; two daughters, Dietra Carree (Isaac) and Rebecca Campbell; two grandchildren, Alaina Carree and Bryce Jones; Alaina’s paternal grandmother; eight sisters, Ether (George) Ward, Cleo Easley, Hazel Edmonds, Lillie Hunt, Martha Sheppard, Jean Coles, Eloise (Barry) Swann and Evonne Edmonds; three brothers, Lee A. Edmonds Sr., Elder Branford (Joanna) Edmonds Sr. and James (Adell) Edmonds; father and mother-in-law Apostle Lawrence G. Campbell Sr. and Mother Gloria Campbell; sisters-in-law, Rosa Edmonds, Elizabeth Edmonds, Allethia (David) Perrin, Angela (Matthew) Allen and Hope (Steve) Minus; a brother-in-law Phillip Campbell; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, a special sister Dottie Stewart; and her Bibleway Cathedral Church family.
Evangelist Campbell was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Frank Davis Edmonds and Emmett Jerome Edmonds Sr.
Evangelist Campbell will be missed by all who truly loved her.
At her request, the memorial is private, as this is a solemn time for the immediate family.
