Mrs. Frances McCormick Womack of Vernon Hill passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at South Boston Health and Rehab.
She was born in Halifax County on Jan. 26, 1930, and was 92 years old.
She was the daughter of the late Alonzo Lennie McCormick and the late Florida Owen McCormick and was married to the late Lynn Cephus “LC” Womack.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She loved sewing, cooking, tending her flowers, dancing and especially adored her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Womack of Vernon Hill and Mary Womack of Vernon Hill; three grandchildren, Chris Womack (Michelle) of Vernon Hill, Brandi Thompson (Joey) of Virgilina and Presley Smith (Heather) of Nathalie; siblings, Bill McCormick (Fay) of Forrest and Pat Holcomb (Tommy) of Nathalie; great-grandchildren, Christopher Womack of Clover, Sierra Womack of Clover, Curtis Womack of Vernon Hill, Alec Thompson of Virgilina, Cohen Thompson of Virgilina, Hunter Smith of Nathalie and Colton Smith of Nathalie.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Womack Smith; son, Lynn Cephus Womack Jr.; brothers, Lawrence, Charlie, David and Bud McCormick; and sisters Annie Womack, Peggy Murray and Gladys Throckmorton.
A funeral service will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church on Tuesday, April 19, 2022. at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Pat Nielson conducting the service. Burial will follow at the Womack Family Cemetery in Vernon Hill.
The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.and other times at her home.
