Mrs. Gracie Younger Terry of Bold Springs Road, South Boston, died Thursday, Nov. 19 at Sentara Woodview at the age of 96.

Mrs. Terry was born on July 13, 1924, in Halifax County to the late Extra Coleman Younger and Ollie Crawley Younger.

She was married to the late Jimmie D. Terry and was a member of Dan River Bethel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Terry is survived by one son, Alphonso G. Terry Sr. (Willie Pearl); one daughter, Audrey Terry Grant (Arthur); five grandchildren, Alphonso Terry Jr. (Patricia), Marcus Grant (Trebla), Karen Staten (Ralph), Terry Grant (Devin) and Crystal Ndanyi (John); nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; one sister-in-law, Elvira Younger; cousins, Elizabeth Medley, Samuel Haymes and Odell Haymes; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents and husband, Gracie was preceded in death by nine siblings.

Graveside services for Mrs. Gracie Younger Terry will be held on Monday, Nov. 23 at 11 a.m. with services at Dan River Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dwight Wilkerson officiating. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, there will be a limited gathering. A face mask and social distancing will be required.

Public viewing was Sunday at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel from noon until 6 p.m.
