Helen Newton Rose of South Boston passed away Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022.

She was born in Halifax County on Sept. 16, 1940, and was 82 years of age.

She was the daughter of the late Patrick Henry Newton, the late Mary Letell Glasscock Smith and the late stepfather, William “Bill” Smith. She was married to Buddy B. Rose who survives.

She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ.

Helen was the sweetest, most genuine, spunky, unconditional lover and was happiest when she was with family and friends. “Granny Helen” had a pure heart and saw the good in all people.

Helen Newton Rose is survived by her husband of 63 years, Buddy B. Rose; her daughter, Jeri Rose Endler; grandchildren, Ryan Nicole Morrison (James) of Chelsea, Michigan, Matthew S. Endler (Kristine) of Dexter, Michigan, G. Burton Hillburn II (Krystal) of Chelsea, Michigan, Thomas R. Endler of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; great grandchildren Whitney Endler of Dexter, Michigan, Meredith Endler of Dexter, Michigan; one sister, Betty Belle Black of Halifax.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Church of Jesus Christ, 2028 Grubby Road Halifax.

The family invites everyone to join in fellowship at Berry Hill Resort and Plantation in the Library at 3:30 p.m.
