Mrs. Hester Kirby Mosley of Mountain Road, Halifax, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, at the age of 95. 

Mrs. Mosley was born in Halifax County on Nov. 25, 1925 to the late Garnett Kirby Sr. and Irene Richardson Kirby. She was married to the late James Author “Gene” Mosley and a faithful member of Union Grove Christian Methodist Church. 

Mrs. Mosley is survived by four sons, Jessie Mosley (Veresia), Carter Mosley (Esther), Robert Mosley (Frances) and Ray Mosley (Donna); two daughters, Elenora Mayo and Nancy Johnson (Barethonie); one daughter-in-law, Linda Mosley; one sister, Mamie Edmunds; 14 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including Lucy Hughes and Moses Davis.  

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three children, Archie, Ella and Corine. 

Funeral services for Mrs. Hester Kirby Mosley will be Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at 1 p.m. at The Crawford House Chapel, Halifax with the Rev. Charles Hudson, eulogist. Burial will follow at Union Grove C.M.E. Church Cemetery. 

Public viewing for family and friends was held Tuesday, March 2, 2021, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The Crawford House Chapel.

Due to COVID-19 seating is limited. A mask and social distancing is required.
