Irma Dawson Seamster, 68, of Nathalie passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at home. She was the wife of David Lynn Seamster.

Mrs. Seamster was born in Halifax County, May 8, 1951, a daughter of the late Tommy Dawson and Mary Doss Dawson. She was a member of Ellis Creek Baptist Church and retired from Tvilum.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Christie S. Carr (Sam) and Michelle S. Pulliam (Derek) all of Nathalie; five grandchildren, Cailee, Emily and Chloe Carr and Hannah Whitlow and Hunter Pulliam; a brother, Marvin Dawson (Bonnie); eight sisters, Louise Miller, Linda Eanes, Barbara McCullock, Joyce Burton (Harrell), Connie Betterton (David), Rhonda Neighbors (Steve Booth), Sue Hunter and Mary Ann Coates (Teddy Ray); and two sisters-in-law, Betty Jo Dawson and Jean Dawson. She was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Walter and Michael Dawson; and two brothers-in-law, Ron McCullock, and Elbert Eanes.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2020, at Ellis Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. W. D. Mills with interment to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Derek Pulliam.

Memorial contributions may be made to Triangle Volunteer Fire Department, Halifax County Cancer Association, and Sentara Halifax Hospice.
