Mr. James A. Miller of Nathalie died on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020, at Woodview Nursing Home.

Mr. Miller, son of the late Calvin and Violet Miller was born, Nov. 21, 1944 in Gretna, and at early age joined Mt. Airy Baptist Church.

Mr. Miller was educated in the Halifax County School System. He later relocated to Washington, D.C. were he worked as construction worker.

Mr. Miller is survived by three children, Barbara Ann Elliott and Kevin Womack of Danville and Allen Miller of Maryland; three brothers, Calvin Miller, Claude Miller (Bertha) of Nathalie and William I. Miller (Mary) of Java; two sisters, Elisabeth Dixon and Minnie Terry of Temple Hills, Maryland; three grandchildren, Devin Womack, KeKe Womack and JJ Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings, Robert Lee Miller, Norman Miller, Estelle Johnson, Madeline Miller, Mary Sue Lites and Barbara Ann Strother; one niece, Barbara Jean Dixon; two nephews Charles Johnson and Junior Johnson; and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Miller.

Funeral services for Mr. James A. Miller will be Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Millers Funeral Home, Gretna, with Dr. Otis R. Dillard, eulogist.

Burial will follow in the Mt. Airy Baptist Church Cemetery.

Due to COVID-19 guidelines, seating will be limited. A facemask and social distancing will be required.
