James “Jimmy” Brann Hogan of Buffalo Junction passed away at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019, at the age of 75. He was born July 26, 1944 in Halifax County to the late James Thomas and Irene Puckett Hogan.

Jimmy was employed with Ramsey Construction. Prior to his job there, he worked as a parts runner for NAPA and as a car salesman for Moore’s Chevrolet.

First and foremost, Jimmy was a family man.

Jimmy will be forever remembered by his wife of 35 years, Carol Lauri Hogan; by son Christopher Brann Hogan and his wife, Sherrie, and daughter Samantha; by daughter Lisa Stoner of Norfolk and her children, Ashley and Brittney, and her grandchildren, Kynlee and Kysen; by stepdaughter Patricia Perkins of Rincon, Georgia, and her son, William; and by siblings Loretta Hogan Roberts of Bahama, North Carolina, Anita Hogan Talley, Larry Wilford Hogan, both of Virgilina, and Lloyd Wayne Hogan (Sue) of Clarksville. He is also survived by a special nephew, Harley Ligon; his first wife and mother of his son, Carolyn Tillotson Pearce; as well as a host of other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by brothers Thomas William Hogan and Carl Edward Hogan.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, at Aarons Creek Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The Rev. Jack Stewart will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
