Mrs. Jennie Elam Faulkner of South Boston died on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021, at her residence at the age of 95.
Mrs. Faulkner was born March 23, 1926 in Charlotte County to the late William Henry Elam and Mary Price Elam and was married to the late Daniel Calvin Faulkner. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
Mrs. Faulkner is survived by one grandson, Branden Ridgeway of Maryland; one great grandchild, Blake Ridgeway; one sister, Annie Bailey (Joseph) of Halifax; one brother, Otis Elam (Shirley) of Fairfax Station; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Charlene Faulkner; six sisters, Nannie Hunter, Ada Elam, Mattie Harris, Julia Elam, Ruth Brogdon and Rosa Elam; and four brothers, Willie Louis Elam, Charles Elam, Marion Elam and James Elam.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Elam Faulkner will be Friday, Nov. 5, 2021, at 11 a.m. at The Crawford House Chapel, Halifax, with the Rev. Dr. Horace B. Parham, eulogist.
Burial will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
Public viewing for family and friends will be Thursday from noon until 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home. Following COVID -19 guidelines, a facemask and social distancing will be required. A limit of 50 people will be allowed at the service.
