Mr. Jimmie Bane Watts of Scottsburg passed away on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, in South Boston.

He was born in Halifax County on Oct. 8, 1935, and was 86 years old.

He was the son of the late Samuel William Watts and the late Ruby Snead Watts and was married to Carolyn Faye Watts who survives.

He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran. He loved coon hunting and looking for deals at flea markets. He was quite the mechanic and could fix anything, most especially lawn mowers and small engines.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Faye Watts, of Scottsburg; one daughter, Annette W. Weston of Halifax; one granddaughter, Wendy W. Bohannon and husband Timothy of Chase City; great-grandchildren Dustin Singleton, Blake Bohannon and Emma Bohannon; one great-great-grandchild, Chloe Singleton; sisters Harriet Womack and husband Bobby of Vernon Hill and Almeda Perkins of Missouri; and brother James Watts and wife Barbara of Clarksville.

He was preceded in death by one son, Samuel Darryl Watts, and siblings, Arthor Watts, Hagood Watts, Dewey Watts, Eugene Watts, Mattie Bailey and Lillian Conner.

A funeral service will be held at Powell Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Dave Webb officiating.

The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home for one hour prior to the service.
