John C. Bullen Jr., 89, of Gladys passed away Saturday, Oct, 17, 2020, at Commonwealth Assisted Living in South Boston.

John was born in Red Bay, Alabama, on Feb. 12, 1931, the son of the late John C. Bullen Sr. and Helen Pilley Bullen. He was of the Methodist faith, a veteran of the U.S Air Force, a member of American Legion of South Boston, Burleson Masonic Lodge #143 Red Bay, Alabama, the Lions Club of South Boston, a member of the Shriners and a retired plant engineer for Sunshine Mills.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Coates Bullen of Gladys; three sons, Phil Bullen (Sondra) of Alabama, Colt Bullen (Hailey) of Mississippi and Blake Bullen (Holly) of Alabama; loved by nine stepchildren; seven grandchildren; 24 step grandchildren and one sister, Joyce Campbell of Mississippi.

He was proceeded in death by a daughter, Monica Isbell.

A memorial service will be conducted at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, Oct. 22 at 1 p.m. with military honors and the Rev. Jon Vaughan.

Family will receive friends at the home at other times.
