Mr. Leon Curtis of Paul James Road, Halifax died on Monday, Nov. 18, 2019, at Sentara Woodview at the age of 87.

Mr. Curtis was born on May 18, 1932 in Halifax County to the late Mr. James Curtis and Mrs. Hallie Mae Harris Curtis. He was married to the late Mrs. Annie Mae Stovall Curtis and was employed by the former Daystrom Furniture in South Boston. 

Mr. Curtis is survived by  three nephews, Randy Curtis (Casandra) of Cheltenham, Maryland, George Curtis of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Rodney Curtis (Sandy) of Ft. Washington, Maryland; three nieces, Denise Queen of Springdale, Maryland, Diane Latta (Gil) of Brunswick, Georgia, and Delphine Arrington of Waldorf, Maryland; his extended family son, Benteen Walton, of South Boston; two daughters, Gail Chandler (Charlie) of Virgilina and Glenda Hendricks (Rodney) of Greensboro, North Carolina; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, George Curtis, and two sisters, Louise Curtis and Bessie Mae Curtis.

Funeral services for Mr. Leon Curtis were held Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, at 11 a.m. at The Crawford House Chapel, Halifax with the Rev. Randy Curtis officiating.

Burial followed in Rose Garden Cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends was Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
