Leslie Dale Reaves of South Boston passed away Jan. 6, 2020.
He was born in Halifax on Dec. 16, 1946 and was 73 years of age. He was the son of the late Leslie Willie Reaves and the late Virginia Armfield Reaves. He was married to Mary Reaves who survives.
He was a member of First Crossroads Baptist Church. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era, a member of V.F.W. and a member of the American Legion Post 8.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his children, Lisa Bliss, of Halifax and Barry Dwight Thomas Jr. of Halifax; one granddaughter, Carrie Olivia Bliss; two step-sons, Allen Snead and Shawn Snead, both of South Boston; siblings, Eugene Ray Reaves and his wife, Linda, of Alton, Carolyn Tuck and her husband, Robert, of South Boston and Barbara Spencer of Alton.
His first wife, Carrie Reaves, and siblings, Wade Allen Reaves and Sandra Joy Reaves, also preceded Mr. Reaves in death.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020, at First Crossroads Baptist Church with the Revs. Daniel Whitt and Jack Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, one hour prior to the service at the church, and other times at his home, 6080 Philpott Rd., South Boston.
