Lillian S. “Cindy” Wilmoth of Scottsburg passed away Dec. 31, 2020.

She was born in Halifax County on Jan. 30 ,1928, and was 92 years of age.

She was the daughter of the late Samuel Howard Smith and the late Virgie Allen King smith. She was married to the late Andrew Lee Wilmoth.

She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and attended Fork Baptist Church. She loved flowers, flatfooting to blue grass music, cooking and quilting.

Lillian S. “Cindy” Wilmoth is survived by her children, Lillian Mae “Susie” Shults and husband Bernard of Colonial Heights and David Lee Wilmoth Sr. and wife Barbara of Chesterfield; eight grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and siblings, Anabelle “Baby” Snead of Scottsburg, Nannie S. Throckmorton of Scottsburg and William “Biggiman” Smith and wife Sarah of Scottsburg.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara W. Hackney; two sisters, Aunt Blanche Langford and Sally. S. “Bump” Lewis; and six brothers, Tom Smith, Hagood Smith, Jimmy “Hoover” Smith, Charlie Smith, Allen Smith and Dick Smith.

A graveside service will be held Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, at 1 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Warfield officiating. In keeping with CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19, funeral service for will be livestream via Powell Funeral Home’s Facebook page.
