Ms. Mable Staten Haddock, of New York and formerly of Halifax County, died Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the age of 74.
Ms. Haddock was born in Halifax County on June 20, 1948, to the late Nephew Staten and Alice Staten and had a very successful career in Public Media.
Ms. Haddock is survived by one son, Kevin Haddock of Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph Staten of South Boston and James Staten (Jewell) of Richmond; four sisters, Odessa Crews of White Plains, Maryland, Vivian Staten of Palm Springs, California, Faye Staten Brown (Leon) of Temple Hills, Maryland and Brenda Staten of New York, New York; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, William Allen Staten; and one sister, Rosa Staten Perkins.
Funeral services for Ms. Mable Staten Haddock will be Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Zion Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Scott, eulogist.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Public viewing for family and friends will be Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2022, from noon until 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home. A face mask is required at the church.
