Mrs. Mildred Virginia Satterfield Seamster of Halifax passed away Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, at her home.

She was born May 2, 1927, and was 93 years old.

She was the daughter of the late Kenneth David Satterfield and the late Mary Elizabeth Forlines Satterfield and was married to the late Louis Howard Seamster.

She was a member of the Halifax United Methodist Church, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and past member at the Center United Church of Christ. Mrs. Seamster was retired from Burlington Industries after 30 plus years of service.

Mrs. Mildred Virginia Satterfield Seamster is survived by one son, L.H. Seamster Jr. and wife Kaye of Vernon Hill; three daughters, Barbara Collie and husband Ronnie of Alton, Susan Terry and husband Hank of South Boston and Patsy Fisher and husband Sam of Halifax; seven grandchildren, Eric Seamster (Nikki), Casey Collie (Amber), Cameron Collie (Krystle), Adam Terry (Heather), Traci Throckmorton (Joey), Stephanie Neal (Michael) and Scott Wilkins (Meagan); and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and eight sisters.

Graveside services will be held Monday, Nov. 23, 2020, at 3 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Thad Decker officiating. In keeping with CDC guidelines, face mask and social distancing are recommended.

The family will receive friends at her home, 275 Cedar Lane, Halifax.
