Nancy Keeling Nichols of Clover passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021. She was born in Lynchburg on Oct. 4, 1935 and was 85 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Jack Milton Keeling and the late Edna Virginia Ragland Keeling. She was married to the late Ray Nichols.
She was a faithful member of Clover Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and helped with vacation Bible school. Nancy loved sewing, crocheting and cooking. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend.
Nancy K. Nichols is survived by her children, Everette Ray Nichols Jr. and wife Bonnie of Radford, Forrest Nichols and wife Diane of Richmond and Kelly Nichols Fite and husband Bion of South Boston; seven grandchildren, Blair Nichols of Radford, Kristen Nichols Matiz and husband Diego of Richmond, Brittany Nichols Nelson and husband J.P. of Charleston, South Carolina, Kasey Nichols Murphy and husband Josh of Richmond, Hanna Nichols Killian and husband Bryan of Richmond, Patrick Currie and wife Katie of La Plata, Maryland and Austin Fite of La Plata, Maryland; sisters Jackie Keeling Jackson of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Susan Keeling Hensley and husband Tommy of Culpepper; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings Ray Keeling, Barbara Keeling Moore and Joan Keeling Osborne.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Clover Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Wilkins officiating. In keeping with CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19, we recommend the wearing of face masks and social distancing. The service will be live streamed via Powell Funeral Home’s Facebook page.
The family will receive friends Wednesday immediately following the service.
