Mrs. Nancy Long Perkins of Nathalie passed away Monday, Jan. 2, 2017.

She was born in Milton, North Carolina, on July 28, 1941 and was 75 years old.

She was the daughter of the late James Brooks Long and the late Edna Williamson Long. She was married to Thomas Perkins Jr. who survives.

Mrs. Perkins was a member of Union United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband of 52 years, survivors include one son, Michael Perkins, and wife Pam of Nathalie; two daughters, Karen Fruend and husband Walter of South Boston and Shelia Carey of Nathalie; grandchildren Brooks Gentry, Alyssa Fruend and Reagan, Nick and Shea Carey; three sisters, Mary Ann “Boots” Pruett of Turbeville, Virginia “Teeny” Collie of Alton and Laura Leach and husband Dick of Huddleston; a host of nieces and nephews; and a special sister-in-law, Lillie Mae “PeeWee” Keatts.

One sister, Frances Hicks, and one brother, James “Frankie” Long, also preceded Mrs. Perkins in death.

Memorial service will be held Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Kristopher Cook officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at Powell Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.
