Ms. Nannie Belle Irving of Washington, D.C., formerly of Halifax County, died at Washington Hospital Center at the age of 84. Ms. Irving was born in Halifax on Dec. 8, 1934 to the late Mr. Gussie Irving and Mrs. Nannie Poindexter Irving.
She was a member of New Hope C.M.E. Church, Halifax and Lane Memorial C.M.E. Church, Washington, D.C.
Ms. Irving is survived by her daughter, Ms. Audrey Green, of Washington, D.C.; four grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one step brother, Mr. Moses Williams; one cousin, Mr. Douglas Jackson, and wife Mrs. Edna Jackson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, one sister, Camie Brown, preceded her in death.
Funeral services for Ms. Irving will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2019, at 2 p.m. with services at New Hope C.M.E. Church with the Rev. Diedra Horne officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Public viewing will be on Saturday, June 15, 2019, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the service on Sunday.
