Mr. Nathan Levy Berkley of Crawford Road, Halifax died Friday, May 31, 2019, in Pulaski County at the age of 57.
Mr. Berkley was born in Brooklyn, New York, on July 21, 1961 to Julia Stephens Berkley and the late Mr. Cal Wilson Berkley. He was a long-time truck driver and was last employed with Dawson Trucking Company.
Mr. Berkley is survived by his wife, Wanda Lester Berkley, of the home; three children, Demond (Tyrese) of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Marquis and Alesha Nicole, both of South Boston; two granddaughters, Asia and Ayana; his mother, Julia Berkley, of Vernon Hill; one brother, Larry Berkley, (Helaina) of Vernon Hill; three step grandchildren, Samuel, Sharron and LaTrease; his mother-in-law, Hattie Lester, of South Boston; and a host of cousins, other relatives and great friends.
In addition to his father, Mr. Berkley was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Berkley.
Funeral services for Mr. Nathan Levy Berkley will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at 11 a.m. with services at The Crawford House Chapel with Bishop Joseph Dixon as eulogist.
Burial will follow in County Line Missionary Baptist Church cemetery.
Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday, June 7, 2019, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at The Crawford House, Halifax.
