Mr. Ray Carson Boyd, husband of Trauti Goletz Boyd, passed away at his home on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, at the age of 74. He was born on Jan. 4, 1947 to the late Harvey Bruce Boyd and the late Lottie Hite Boyd.
Ray was the owner of Quick-Way Salvage in Halifax County. He loved antique cars and restoring them himself.
In addition to his wife, Trauti, he is survived by a daughter, Michelle Boyd Tween, and husband, Brian of East Chester, New York; son Michael Boyd of Wake Forest, North Carolina; granddaughter Maggie Tween; brothers Marshall Boyd and wife Tina of Kingsland, Georgia and Horace Boyd and wife Christine of New Rochelle, New York; and nieces, nephews and other family members, also his former wife, Nancy Boyd of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janice Moderelli.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 12, 2021, at Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be an open visitation and viewing on Thursday, Feb. 11, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home, 115 Main Street, South Boston.
