Mr. Robert Lee “Bob” Womack of Pine Height Trail, Halifax, died on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020, at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 64.

Mr. Womack was born in Halifax County on May 9, 1955 to Mr. Onzie O. Womack and the late Mrs. Mary Edmonds Womack.  He was married to Mrs. Mary Chandler Womack and was a United States Army Veteran.  Mr. Womack was a former employee of ABB, Inc.

Mr. Womack is survived by his wife of the home; two sons, Mr. Justin Womack of the home and Mr. Travis Barksdale of South Boston; two daughters, Ms. Kimberly Coleman of South Boston, and Ms. Yhetta Fitzgerald of Fayetteville, North Carolina; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his father of Vernon Hill; two sisters, Ms. Emma Sutphin of Newport News and Mrs. Grindle Martin (Charles) of Halifax; three brothers, Mr. Onzie Womack Jr. of Vernon Hill, Mr. John Womack and Mr. James Womack (Barbara), all of South Boston; two sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law;  and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including the devoted Mr. Watt “Skeet” Womack and Mr. Noah Shaheed.

In addition to his mother, one sister, Ms. Alice M. Womack, and one brother, Mr. Glen O. Womack, also preceded him in death.  

Funeral services for Mr. Womack will be Friday, Feb. 7, 2020, at 11 a.m. at New Mt. Olive Apostolic Church with Suffrogan Bishop Leonia Palmer, pastor and Elder William Howerton eulogist.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 99.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home and the family will be receiving friends at the residence, 1120 Pine Height Trail, Halifax.
