Ronald Lewis Chaney of South Boston passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022.
He was born in Newport News on June 10, 1943, and was 79 years of age.
He was the son of the late Lewis Albert Chaney and the late Thelma Vann Wade.
He was of the Baptist faith. Ronald was an avid race fan and loved cowboy and Indian shows. He will be remembered in love by all who knew him.
Ronald Lewis Chaney is survived by his children, Renee C. Puryear (Steve Noblin) of South Boston, Kevin Chaney and wife Geegi of South Boston, Keith Chaney of South Boston; grandchildren Ryan Puryear (Ky), Christopher Chaney, Alina Chaney (Matt) and Adam Chaney; great grandson Grayson Puryear; siblings, Christine Smith (Oliver) of Halifax, Robert Chaney of Escondido, California; host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brother James Chaney.
A funeral service was held Monday, July 18, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Black Walnut Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond Wooten officiating.
Burial followed in church cemetery.
The family received friends Monday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
