Mr. Samuel Raleigh Williamson Sr., 80, of South Boston, entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 8, 2020, at his residence.
Mr. Williamson was born in Beacon, New York on March 6, 1940 to the late James S. and Sarah Faulkner Williamson. He was a member of Cherry Hill Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction. Prior to retirement he was a chef at the Fishkill Correctional Facility in Beacon.
In addition to his parents, two brothers, Jerry Williamson and Henry Watkins; and a sister, Heneritta W. Fountain, also preceded Mr. Williamson in death.
Left to cherish precious memories are his wife, Willie Edwards Williamson, of South Boston; two sons, Samuel R. Williamson Jr. of South Boston and Paul Williamson (Deborah) of Lillington, North Carolina; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Williamson of Orlando, Florida and Frances W. Newton of Peekskill, New York; a brother, James Williamson (Evelyn) of Colonial Heights, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Williamson will be conducted 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at Cherry Hill Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction with the Rev. Dr. Linda Thornton officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
