Mrs. Sarah Ellen Brown Baldwin of South Boston died Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Sentara Woodview at the age of 95.
Mrs. Baldwin was born on Dec. 27, 1924, in Halifax County to the late Frank S. Brown and Martha Rickmond Brown.
She was married to the late Harvey L. Baldwin and was a member of Crystal Hill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Baldwin is survived by her sister, Mrs. Mamie Clark (Sidney); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Aldophe Brown, John Brown and Beverly Brown; four sisters, Elizabeth Moorman, Blanche Moorman, Theador Mae Brown and Roseate Brown; two children she raised as her own, Charles Harriott and Andrew Brown; two sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.
Graveside services for Mrs. Sarah Ellen Brown Baldwin will be held Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 1:30 p.m. with services at Crystal Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Lewis Leigh officiating.
Due to new COVID-19 guidelines, there will be a limited gathering of 25 individuals at the cemetery. A face mask and social distancing will be required.
A public viewing will be at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, Nov. 18, prior to the service, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
