Sharon L. Thomas, 61, of Richmond slipped away quietly on Sept. 8, 2020 at her daughters home in Mechanicsville.
She was born in Ellenville, New York on Sept. 22, 1958. She was daughter of Marie Thomas of South Boston and the late Arthur Thomas, and the granddaughter of the late Bertha Crawley.
She was a member of Dan River Bethel Baptist Church and later after relocating to Richmond, she attended Saint Paul Church.
She is survived by her children, Shanta Whitaker of Washington D.C., Erica Peters (Anthony) of Mechanicsville and Derrick Thomas of Monticello, New York; granddaughter Nola Peters; one sister, Priscilla Cole (Joseph) of Richmond; one brother, Kevin Thomas of Ellenville, New York; and her little brother, Armiché Crawley of South Boston; five aunts, Fannie Dunaway and Diane Russell (William) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Abigail Thomas (Chet) of Joppa, Maryland and Priscilla McClure and Pearlie Henderson, both of Thomasville, North Carolina; six uncles, Herman Crawley (Vernell) of Ellenville, Sherman Crawley (Claudette) of Richmond Height, Ohio, William Crawley (Arlene) of Newport News, Arnold Crawley of South Boston, William Thompson of Washington D.C. and Calvin Henderson of Thomasville; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Due to COVID-19, a private memorial was held with arrangements by Affinity Funeral Service of Richmond.
