Mr. Thomas Edward Stovall of South Boston died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020, at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 66. 

Mr. Stovall was born in Halifax County on Jan. 4, 1954, to Mrs. Carrie Lee Stovall Jordan and the late Mr. Thomas Boxley Jordan. He was married to Mrs. Gloria Jean Poindexter Stovall, and from their union came three children. 

In addition to his wife, Mr. Stovall is survived by three daughters, Crystal Stovall, Catrina George (Boyd) and Tonya Stovall; five grandchildren, Aniyah Stovall, London Stovall, Braydon George, Meleah George and Breah George; his mother, Carrie Jordan; one sister, Linda Martin; one sister-in-law, Detra Poindexter; two brothers-in-law, Leo Poindexter and Robert Martin; four nieces and nephews, Garry Jermaine Garrett (Lorickica), India Poindexter, Malik Poindexter and Brandy Poindexter; one great-nephew, Khali Garrett; a host of cousins, including George Stovall, Catherine Talley and Nancy Jordan; a host of friends, including his best friend Patrick Llewellyn; and countless “adopted” nieces and nephews in the community. 

Graveside services for Mr. Thomas Edward Stovall will be Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, face masks and social distancing will be required. 

Public viewing for family and friends will be Monday, Nov. 2, 2020, from noon to 8 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
