Timmy Carol Vassar of Clover passed away Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021. He was born in Halifax County on Dec. 18, 1960 and was 61 years of age. He was the son of Jane Elizabeth Duffey Vassar Tate and the late Henry Arnold Vassar. He was married to Deborah Hazelwood Vassar who survives.
He was a member of Mt. Laurel United Methodist Church.
Timmy Carol Vassar is survived by his wife, Deborah H. Vassar of Clover; one daughter, Mikayla Vassar of South Boston; grandsons Noah and Nicholas; his mother, Jane Elizabeth D. Vassar Tate; two sisters, Belinda Claborn (Timothy) of Springfield, Illinois and Debbie Stevens (Lenair) of Conway, South Carolina; and three half-brothers, William, Howard and Jason Tate.
He was preceded in death by a half brother, Michael Tate.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Laurel United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Renee Teague and the Rev. Aubrey Heath officiating. Per the family’s request, masks are required.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Mt. Laurel United Methodist Church.
