Timothy Wayne Powell of Roxboro, North Carolina passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023, at the age of 54.
He was born in Farmville on Jan. 25, 1969, to the late Collie Alton Powell Sr. and the late Catherine Seamster Comer.
Timothy loved fishing, “farting around in the truck” and bringing home the bacon from the turkey shoot. The holidays were very important to Tim, especially Christmas. Tim also enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and children. He was a good-hearted person with a passion for helping people and always believed that “one hand washes the other.” He was employed as a furniture salesman at The Furniture Mart of Roxboro, North Carolina.
He is survived by his children, Charles Michael Bowes, Kevin Dale Powell and Cherea Brooke Powell; his wife of many years, Christie Bowes Powell; brothers, Michael Dale Powell and Collie Alton Powell Jr.; brother-in-law, Jeremy Michael Bowes; sisters-in-law, Wanda D. Powell and Melanie Bowes Crumpton; many nieces and nephews and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Catherine and Collie; stepdad, Freeman Comer; best friend, Larry Gunn; grandparents, Ira and Louise Seamster, Elgin and Izittie Powell and Mildred Bowes.
A celebration of Timothy’s life will be held at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 2 p.m.
Burial will follow in Clover Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 12, 2023, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
