Ms. Tonya Maretta Lindsey of Lynchburg, formerly of Halifax County, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, in South Boston at the age of 52.

Ms. Lindsey was born in Halifax County on Oct. 31, 1967 to the late Clyde Lindsey Sr. and Barbara Johnson Lindsey.

She worked for the Department of Social Services in Campbell County for over 20 years.

Ms. Lindsey is survived by her four siblings, Quentin Lindsey (Denise) of Alton and Clyde Lindsey (Patricia), Katrina Lindsey and Cassandra Lindsey Blanding, all of South Boston; one god sister, Dawn Roberts, (George) of South Boston; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, other  relatives and devoted friends including Julie Williams, Kimberly King, Brenda Dunning, Lisa Wiley, Linda Ellis Williams, Leonardo Bouldin, Laura Winston and Ardeania Ward.

Funeral services for Ms. Lindsey will be held Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Mayfield Apostolic Church with Bishop Bernard Wilkins, pastor, and Elder Carl Johnson, eulogist.

Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Public viewing will be Friday, Nov. 29, 2019, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the home of Katrina Lindsey, Poplar Creek Street, Apt 340 B, South Boston.
