Mr. Tyrone “T” Harris of South Boston died Friday, Feb. 10, at the age of 69.
Mr. Harris was born on Dec. 13, 1953, in Halifax County to the late James DeClare Wyatt and Isabella Norma Harris.
Tyrone was a retired employee for the Town of South Boston and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Mr. Harris is survived by one son, Frederick Brooks (Karen) of Roxboro, North Carolina; one grandson, Donovan of Roxboro, North Carolina; two sisters, Dora Lassiter and Gyvonia Harris, both of South Boston; four brothers, Lawrence Harris (Angela) and Donald Harris, both of Halifax, and Amos Harris and James Wyatt (Deloris), both of South Boston; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Tyrone was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Harris.
Funeral services for Mr. Tyrone “T” Harris will be held Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 1 p.m. with services at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Bishop Lawrence Burrell as eulogist. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Public viewing will be at Jeffress Funeral Home on Monday from noon to 6 p.m.
