Mrs. Vernisa Chavious Morgan of South Boston died Friday, Oct. 22, at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina, at the age of 73.

Mrs. Morgan was born on July 28, 1948, to the late Mr. Floyd Chavious Jr. and Mrs. Leona Wade Chavious. She was married to Mr. Richard Morgan and was a member of Dan River Bethel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Morgan is survived by her husband, Richard Morgan of the home; one daughter, Cassandra M. Edmunds of South Boston; one son, Tony Morgan (Kirstie) of South Boston; two grandchildren, Tymisha Morgan and Jade Edmunds, both of South Boston; one sister, Theresa Chavious of Charlotte, North Carolina; one brother, Joseph M. Chavious of Charlotte, North Carolina; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Mrs. Vernisa Chavious Morgan will be held Wednesday, Oct. 27 at noon with services at Dan River Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dwight Wilkerson as eulogist.

Public viewing will be at Jeffress Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Following COVID -19 guidelines, a face mask and social distancing will be required.

The family will receive friends at the home of Cassandra Edmunds, 4000 Cherry Hill Church Road, South Boston.
