Walter Edward Fox, age 92, of Roxboro, North Carolina died Tuesday evening, Dec.31, 2019, at the Roxboro Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Fox was born April 24, 1927 in Person County, North Carolina, son of the late Ed Younger and Thelma Sally Woody Fox and was husband of 63 years to the late Doris Ellen Guill Fox. He was retired from Eaton Corp., was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and was a veteran of the US Army where he served in WWII.

Surviving are three children, Brenda Fox Rickman (Tommy Pentecost) of Roxboro, Donald E. Fox (Bonnie) of Alton and David L. Fox of Leasburg, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Kevin Campbell, Dustin Fox (Tabitha), Joni F. Womack (Michael) and Marie F. Morris (Dale); step-grandson Timothy Carter; seven great-grandchildren; sister Mary F. Weaver; and sister-in-law Barbara Fox.

In addition to his parents and wife, two brothers, Christo Fox and Fred Fox Sr., and sister Mildred Fox Sowers, also preceded Mr. Fox in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today, Jan. 3, 2020, in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Richard Long officiating.

Interment will follow in the Person Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Bonnie and Donald Fox, 1021 Woodsdale Road, Alton, VA 24520.

Pallbearers will be Perry Bray, Kevin Campbell, Dustin Fox, Fred Fox Jr., Mark Fox, Steve Fox, Larry Weaver and Michael Womack.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the mama’s and man’s of Roxboro Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center for the loving care that they provided.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to the Roxboro Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center Activity Fund, 901 Ridge Road, Roxboro, NC 27573.
