To the editor:

In today’s world we live in times of so many uncertainties. We face the fear of the unknown everyday. How often we forget how blessed we are until a tragedy hits.

We face so many obstacles that are hard to understand. Sometimes we deal with horrible weather such as tornados, hurricanes, floods and raging fires that destroy our beautiful lands. Then there are terrible diseases that take so many lives. It is times such as these that brings us together and helps us stand united. Everyone pulls together and therefore we are able to survive.

Some years ago we faced 9-11. We just knew our country was going to fall. We were mortified and we cried because we couldn’t understand exactly what was happening and what the outcome would be. God brought us out of the darkness and once a gain light shined on our country. We came together and we all stood united because God was with us. He helped us to pick up the pieces and go on living. He also helped us to believe in Him more. What a blessing we have to be able to serve Him and call Him Master.

Now we have a different battle to fight and win. It is a battle like no other battle. It is known as the coronavirus. Even if this battle is more challenging than those in the past, we must not give up. This disease is taking lives all over the world. It moves so fast therefore making it difficult to stop it. What hurts is that we can’t get the much needed supplies to all the places that truly needs them. We all need to pray for the medical people and everyone on the front lines that work so vigorously to fight this disease and save lives. These people work long hard hours and risk their own lives in the process.

My friends listen to the leaders who tell us to stay at home. It is then and only then that we can survive this disease. As we all come together and stand united, we can do this.

Through pain and suffering and all other uncertainties always hold onto your faith and God’s grace in your heart. Faith has and always will take us through these troublesome times. Hold fast to hope. Don’t ever give up on hope. It is a gift from God that makes us to go on living. What our country is going through right now is a test. Coming together will help us to pass it with flying colors because we are never alone. God holds our hands and gives us the strength to overcome every aspect of life.

In closing, I’d like to make a point. If we can come together and be united in the worst of times, why can’t we do it in the good times of our life? Why does it taka tragedy to bring us together? It is something that all of us should think about. Too, God wants us to come to Him all the time not just in the time of mud. You know and I know none of us would be here if it wasn’t for Him. After all He gave the ultimate price – his life on a cross so we could have eternal life.

So take a moment and think about your life. Is it what I want it to be? Am I where I want to be? If not, what can I do to change my life for the better? One valuable piece of advice I give to you — “Start with God and everything else will fall into place.”

God bless you my readers. Stay safe. Come together and stand united but most of all, trust in God.
