To the editor:

There has been two mass shootings in less than two weeks time killing approximately 20 innocent people. We need common sense gun control here in the United States of America.

Every year the mass shootings occur politicians talk about it, but nothing gets done. The Democrats in the House have passed gun control in the past, but the Republicans who had control of the Senate did not even bring it up for a vote.

I urge all citizens of the USA to contact their Republican Senator and urge them to vote to ban assault weapons and enable instant background checks when purchasing weapons. We need this to help control all this senseless killing of innocent Americans.
