To the editor:

In life we always seem to take so much for granted. We don’t stop to think that anything worthwhile comes with a heavy price. Anything that comes free always comes with a catch to it. If you don’t work for things then we don’t deserve them. Why? Because when our life is good, we fail to say thanks. All of us need to be more appreciative of the blessings we receive. Our thanks should go to God always.

Our country has gone through so many changes. Our freedoms are slowly being taken away from us. Have you ever wondered why? I’ll tell you why. We no longer stand together as one nation under God. We stand by and let the evil things of the world take away everything that has meant anything at all to us. So my friends, we need to step up and keep our country strong. Our country was built on a foundation of love, faith, trust, grace, hope and a lot of determination. If things are falling apart in our country and yes even our state, we have only ourselves to blame. Slowly we are letting evil destroy all the good that our country and its people have built. If ever there was a time that our country was in desperate need of God, it is now. We need him and we need to say “thanks” more and truly mean it from the bottom of our heart.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and what better time to start saying thanks more. To some it is merely just another day, but it is much more than that. It is a time when family and friends come together to enjoy a fellowship meal, getting to unite with each other and talk about what has been going on in your life this past year. In other words, getting to know each other all over again. Life is short and you don’t know whether you will have another one. Don’t let it stop here. Each and every day, live your life to the fullest, never forgetting to say thanks as many times as you can and truly mean it. If we say thanks and give praise to God, then we know that we can do anything and make it work for all mankind. No one can do things along, but if we come together as one nation under God letting Him be our guide there is nothing that we can’t accomplish.

In closing, first of all I want to wish everyone a “Happy Thanksgiving.” Secondly, I plead with everyone to truly be grateful for all the blessings that God has blessed us with. Then pray to God and say thanks. Let Him know that you want to live your life that is pleasing to Him.

If we all would do this, what a beautiful country we could be living in. Don’t let anyone take away your beliefs and your faith.

“Thanks,”
