After months of hoopla, mudslinging, backstabbing and fingerpointing, the mid-term elections of 2018 are finally history.

No more back-to-back-to-back-to-back commercials on TV. People will find themselves having withdrawal symptoms for days to come, I’m sure.

What are we all going to do without every commercial break on TV filled with political ads? Are you going to miss your every 10-minute mudslinging, backstabbing and name calling break?

Virginia’s U. S. Senate race and the 5th District House of Representatives campaigns have seemed to me to be some of the most negative campaigns I can remember…and it goes for many of the other congressional elections across the state.

We’ve been pelted so badly with what the other guy won’t do, I’ve about forgotten what each said he or she would do.

We can only hope and pray we made the right choice. If we didn’t, we’ve got two years to live with it.

And just think, we’ve got 2020 to look forward to.
